What is your company like?
We are a family owned business, with a passion for memorialization, and a philosophy of taking care of people and families, meeting them where they are, serving their needs, and showing them love

How many people work there? We have three full time employees which include, Jason Holcomb Sr., my oldest son, Jason Holcomb Jr., and C.J., Charles Kraft, who grew up with my son. My father, Jim Holcomb is retired, however regularly is present and helps where there is a need.

Where are you located?
Harrison, TN

Do you specialize in a particular thing?
Granite Memorials and Monuments as well as Bronze Memorials. We design and engrave in-house, with a large inventory of granite.

What is your role here?
My main role is business operations. My father and son started our business over 10 years ago. I had several career paths prior to joining the family business three years ago. I am the main contact through phone, email, and social media outlets. I meet with families, provide information, education, and complete most of the initial design work.

How long have you been doing this type of work?
While I have been involved with the business in a full-time capacity for three years, my father and son have been involved with this industry for many years, beginning with genealogy, research, and local history in 1994.

What does a typical day look like for you?
While we have a running job list, and some set appointments, we are responsive to the families we serve. We suggest letting us know when you would like to visit so we can plan schedules and respect the time of others, but serve many families regularly that show up to our business. My main role daily is ensuring we are on track with commitments, forecasting granite orders, and helping out wherever the greatest need is. I may be weeding stencil, breaking granite to needed sizes, or installing completed monuments. All of us wear many hats.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Meeting with families, showing love, and building relationships. Our business extends more than closing a deal, selling a monument, or collecting a deposit. Our first priority is to understand the need and serve them as we can.

Is there a particular project you’re proud of?
We just installed a custom shape monument for a mother who lost two sons in an auto accident. We completed the monument and installed it the day before his 15th birthday so they could have a memorial and celebration of life. This was a football shape monument as her son was a star athlete at his young age. We captured many components on this monument to include standard engraving, skin cut engraving, frosted panels, cameo inlay, etching.

What made it unique?
Custom shape and capturing all of the ideas from his mother.

Were there challenges to overcome?
Many details and lots of engraving

What do you like about working with UBlast Stencil products?
Every time I have reached out, I am first greeted with a friendly and caring person answering the phone. I feel we have built a relationship that is much more valuable than a day-to-day business. I know them and they know me. The stencil has continued to improve as they have adjusted, likely from customer feedback. I have never had a complaint or any UBlast product that didn’t perform to our expectations. Everyone in our family business touches your stencil daily and we are proud to have UBlast serving the families we serve. The prompt service ensures we meet our commitments.
