Customer Spotlight: Stone and Chisel Engraving

Stone and Chisel Engraving, a family owned business near historic Williamsburg, Virginia, is run by husband and wife team, Mark and Jennifer.  They have built their business over the past ten years by consistently delivering quality products and excellent service.

Jennifer is responsible for design, pattern preparation, and occasionally the blasting.  Mark humorously describes his role as “picking things up and putting them down” which includes loading and unloading the truck, setting up and breaking down their booths at art shows, and most importantly blasting the items that Jennifer has prepared.

While they have tackled a wide variety of products, including custom art blasted into stone, wood, metal and glass, their most rewarding work often involves helping both local and far away non-profit organizations raise funds with their fundraising bricks. These bricks are a vital fundraising source for every one of their customers.

They designed and donated a large memorial stone for the 2015 American Human Society Service Dog of the year “Axel” who was the founding dog of Leashes of Valor in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  This non-profit saves the lives at both ends of the leash by training shelter dogs to be service dogs for disabled veterans. Pet memorial stones were one of the first things that they made, and they have provided memorials for all types of pets including dogs, cats, turtles, guinea pigs, birds, and horses.

They also recently completed a large project for the newly constructed Williamsburg Fire Department.  The contractor forgot to place a cornerstone for the building dedication.  They not only blasted a “cornerstone” directly into the building, they also sourced and cut a 605lb Tennessee Orchard stone which they blast engraved and secured to the wall outside of the Fire Department. They constructed a support to hold the stone in place while the mortar set perfectly on the wall.

Mark and Jennifer rely on the 720 series stencil for most of their projects, valuing its dependability and ability to achieve the desired results for their customers. However, it’s U-Blast’s exceptional customer service that truly keeps them coming back.

U-Blast is proud to be part of Stone and Chisel Engraving’s business and admires the positive impact Mark and Jennifer’s artistry has on countless lives.
